Montessori at Our Private School: What Is It and How Does It Support Child Development?

December 15, 2023

At ENSR, we believe in providing an enriching and personalized educational experience for our young learners. Our Montessori programme, catering to students between 2 and a half to 6 years of age, is a hallmark of our commitment to fostering holistic child development. In this blog post, we delve into the core aspects of our Montessori programme, exploring what makes it unique and how it supports the growth and autonomy of each child.

Embrace a Tailored Approach for Individual Growth at Our Private School

The Montessori philosophy, developed by Dr. Maria Montessori, revolves around the idea that every child is a unique individual with their own pace and style of learning. The Montessori programme at our private school embraces this philosophy, strongly emphasizing respecting each child’s rhythm and personality. The specifically designed materials used in the programme are adapted to meet the diverse needs of our young learners and ultimately ensure a tailored and practical learning experience.

One of the key focuses of our Montessori programme is the development of psychomotor skills. From the age of 2 and a half, children in the “petite section” can attend either morning or full-day sessions and engage in activities that enhance their motor skills. The hands-on materials used in our Montessori classrooms are specially curated to stimulate cognitive and physical development, which provides a solid foundation for future learning.

Bilingual Education and Comprehensive Extracurricular Activities

ENSR takes pride in offering bilingual education, integrating English and French seamlessly into our Montessori curriculum. Not only does this facilitate language acquisition, but it also promotes cultural awareness and communication skills from an early age. Our dedicated educators are proficient in both languages, ensuring a supportive and immersive language learning environment for our young students. With that said, we also offer a fully English programme for the benefit of parents who prefer that their children be taught primarily in English.

To complement our Montessori curriculum, ENSR provides extracurricular day activities that are compulsory during the lunch break but optional after school. These activities are carefully curated to enrich the overall learning experience and allow students to explore their interests beyond the traditional classroom setting at our Swiss boarding school

Peace of Mind With Extended Child Care Services

Recognizing the diverse needs of modern families, ENSR extends its commitment to childcare beyond regular school hours. Our before-school childcare services start at 7:30 am, providing a convenient option for parents with early work commitments. Additionally, our after-school care runs until 6:30 pm, providing parents the flexibility they need while ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for their children.

Considering the importance of a balanced diet in a child’s development, ENSR’s Montessori programme includes nutritious meals for kindergarten and Montessori students. A healthy body is essential for a healthy mind, and our carefully curated meals reflect our commitment to providing a holistic learning environment. At ENSR, we’re not just committed to the mental development of our students, we’re also devoted to helping ensure their physical development.
